How does ID scanning work at check-in?
ID scanning in Hostivio pre-fills the check-in form from a passport or identity card using MRZ reading or OCR. Processing runs on the guest’s own device, and the document image is not uploaded to the server. The guest checks the details, corrects any mistakes and submits the form. The feature is included in Pro and Business and requires no app installation.

ID scanning lets a guest complete the check-in form in seconds — instead of typing everything by hand, they point their camera at a passport or ID card. Hostivio reads the machine-readable zone (MRZ) or uses OCR and pre-fills the details automatically. The whole scan runs on the guest's own device, so the image of the document is never sent anywhere.
